Psalm 119:71
"It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes."
In the longest Psalm ,Teth describes in words of poetry an optimistic additude had toward affliction. Affliction, that which is of pain and distress in our life; hardship which may lead us astray. Though it may be hard to see, there is good that will come out of our afflictions. Affliction plays an important role in Gods master plan to our lives. If we were to never experience affliction than it would be hard for us to rely on God. During are afflictions we fall into God's arms realizing that we need Him to keep us above water, we are caught by our Father, and the lesson He has for us is then revealed. Amen. Having afflictions is an esscentual part of learing. A servant of God will go through affliction, just as our Lord Jesus did taking the cup, and hanging on the cross. The after math of the cross will leave scars. After His ressurection, Jesus proved to His disciples who He was by showing them His scared hands. The scars prove who we are, once dead and now alive in Christ. Will we pick up our cross and follow His example of service? In applying this scripture to my life today I will see affliction for what it is and leap toward God to embrace the statutes He is trying to reveal to me.
