IBS 25 - Love, Serve, Freedom.

IBS 25 (Adaptability and Mutual Submission)
Galatians 5:13
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty ; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
God has called us to freedom, to be free in spirit. Gods gift of freedom is of no purpose to the flesh. The flesh is sinful, never righteous nor truthful but full of bondage. With liberty, we love and through love we serve one another. And together, both my neighbor and I are free in Christ. By learning to value this gift of liberty we also fulfill the values of our neighbor, and in doing so we please God. In my walk with God I should learn to value His gifts and callings. By taking guard over them, with praying for His wisdom and faith to protect myself from flesh filled desires. For my application, I will practice my call to liberty by finding a deep sense of freedom inside of the labor of servant time.

IBS 11 - Faith brings patience

Revelation 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. John, writing Revelation talks about his time in exile on the island of patmos. For eighteen months John's perseverance and patience did not waiver. John, in this section of the Bible, displays a clear example of how we as Christians should act while suffering for Christ. Enduring affliction with perseverance and patience is only done in the spirit! John was strengthened by the spirit of God. Sustained by the spirit, even when in chain's on account of Christ's name sake. God gave John the perevilge to write the last book of the Bible in this time of exile. IBS 10 - Joy in being patient

Colossians 1:11 "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." In Paul's letter to the Colossians He is giving thanks and prayer to God for the faith of the Colossians. Prayer for their fulfilment in the knowledge of God's will. Going on to speak of the manner worthy of the Lord. Patience, longsuffering, endurance, with joy! For verse 1:11 this is the manner Paul writes of and it's an important one to understand. Naturally the flesh does not respond with joy during times of suffering. Christians find the ability to behave in such manner because it's a manner of the spirit. With the spiritual wisdom and understanding we find happiness in servanthood for the Lord. Here the lesson is that God strengthens his children to endure longsuffering and we should have joy for the  strength to do His will .
