IBS 34 - Closing blessing

IBS 34 (UNITY) 2 Corinthians 13:11 Paul is giving his closing blessing in the second letter to the Corinthians. This being Paul's third coming to the people of Corinth, the first being present instead of in a letter. Earlier in the finishing section of his letter, Paul writes about himself coming again without sparing but in authority for edification. Paul then narrows to his closing blessing with gentleness, saying that when we are weak they are strong and praying for the completeness of the Corinth people. Then giving his closing blessing for they're completeness.  Unify through becoming complete. Be of good comfort, Be of one mind, and live in peace; are the three phrases Paul uses following after becoming complete. Be of good comfort, do not find comfort with the flesh but with the communion of the Holy Spirit. Be of one mind, find fellowship with your brethren and do not divide a personal life away from your ministry life. Live in peace, have patience with one another and

IBS 33 - Body of Christ

IBS 33 (UNITY) Romans 12:6 As a Christian we present our bodies a living sacrifice and become part of the body of Christ. We are all dealt a measure of faith as we become a member of the body of Christ, no function is greater than another. All members of the body of Christ are individually members to one another, being that all members do not have the same function.  The way we function in the body of Christ is according to the gifts God gracefully gave us. I want to focus on three of these gifts and look over the details of how they each become members of each other. The three gifts I wanted to use for example of are missionary, evangelist, teacher. First is the missionary, one who is led by God to travel outside of his community to reach other parts of the world. This gift requires the interest of other cultures and allows the servant to be aware of risk factors. Second is the evangelist, one who shares the power of God in his life in a clear, and honest testimony to lead others in r

IBS 32 - God is light

IBS 32 John 1:5-7 (UNITY) "God is light and in Him is no darkness at all" practicing the truth means to walk in the light, He is in the light. If we walk in the light we walk with one another in fellowship of the light. The light we walk in, is to be Christ like, is seeking the truth of the living word, is to preach Jesus our lord and savior; and to be pure in the eyes of God by the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. In all these things we share common values, beliefs, purpose. With the fellowship we have in the light we Christians together all thrive on the strong Unity. First, we are not perfect nor do we look upon ourselves to be perfect, we are sinners and are well aware of it, so we look to be like Christ and the life He led. Secondly, we build our lives life are one, and never divided. Furthermore we all share the same command to disciple to the world, preaching everywhere that Jesus is Lord and savior. Lastly we all come undeserving but are condemned because of the grace o

IBS 30 - Follow before you lead

IBS 30 (Servant) Matthew 20:26-28 "yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. "and whoever desires to be first among you let him be your slave-"just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Service is for everyone in Christ; everyone should have the opportunity to serve one another. It's not enough for us to always serve, meaning us alone, it will come to the point of us being totally exhausted. In which will cause us to lose faith and the corrected in ministry. We'll begin to serve for all the wrong reasons. We must allow "us" ourselves to be served, to remind ourselves why we serve. Remembering that its was "us" in Christ that were served first; washed clean in the blood of Christ. The greatness in serving is meant for everyone, if one of our brothers wishes to be great among us all, then let us let him be our servan

IBS 29 - True servant or rebuked

IBS 29 (Servant) Luke 17:7-10 In being a servant of God we do not do our duty seeking rewards. We do what was commanded of us to do. If we have the intentions of receiving profits by being a servant of God, then we are not being a true servant of God and will be rebuked. We serve God to His pleasure not our own. If it was our own pleasure then it would be to the bondage of flesh and perverse intent; surely calamity will be present. Many of us don't mind serving when there's no risk factor to it. God wants us to give without when theres no pay back for it. God wants to teach us that love and serving should be pure, we love and serve without determining the return. Its Gods way of testing our love and our trust in him. Futhermore, all the praise is to God only, we are only able by our God, He is our strength. Finally, as a servant we have already received riches beyond measure, our salvation in christ. Our salvation is our freedom in spirit, releasing us from the chains of deat

IBS 28 - Father will honor

IBS 28 (Servant) John 12:26 "If anyone serves Me, let Him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor." I will go where You want me to go, I will do what You want me to do. I am a bondservant to my Lord Jesus Christ. Having the desire to serve You, I dropped everything and followed. Fear is of this life, in which I hate. Faith is of enternal life, in which I love. Fear told me not, Faith told me I ought. Where He is I came, to a community that serves under His name. Where He goes, they also go; Where they go, He is with them. All who serves the Lord Jesus will be honored by God, the Father. For my application today I will have taken the honorable servant postion of being the rear guard in the areas that our community dwells in, not just for our departure but during our stay. Allowing my leader to be free to lead, with the restful thought of his faithful servant.

IBS 27 - The Body of Christ

IBS 27 1 Corinthians 12:14-16 "for in fact the body is not one member but many.(15)if the foot should say. ''Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? (16) and if the ear should say "because I am not an eye, I am not of the body", is it therefore not of the body? We are reborn by the spirit into one body, the Body of Christ. This Body of Christ is made up of many different and diverse parts that are each equally as important as one another. God use's us all for a different purpose. We may feel like our part in ministry isn't as important as someone else's part, but that is absolutely untrue. When we are servants of God we are apart of a unity. Meaning we all operate together, and without one of those parts we don't function correctly. God has it made this way, because it keeps us in balance. We need each other. For my application today, I will remind my team during servant time the importance of this

IBS 25 - Love, Serve, Freedom.

IBS 25 (Adaptability and Mutual Submission) Galatians 5:13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty ; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. God has called us to freedom, to be free in spirit. Gods gift of freedom is of no purpose to the flesh. The flesh is sinful, never righteous nor truthful but full of bondage. With liberty, we love and through love we serve one another. And together, both my neighbor and I are free in Christ. By learning to value this gift of liberty we also fulfill the values of our neighbor, and in doing so we please God. In my walk with God I should learn to value His gifts and callings. By taking guard over them, with praying for His wisdom and faith to protect myself from flesh filled desires. For my application, I will practice my call to liberty by finding a deep sense of freedom inside of the labor of servant time.

IBS 24 - I became, I become.

IBS 24 (Adaptibility and Mutual Submission) 1 Corinthians 9:22 "to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some" " I became", " I become"; Paul speaks about adaptibility in his walk with the Lord. A servant to all, to win all. To adapt to others culture, that he might win those certain men. Paul Importantly noting that it is done with remaining under the law of God. This ablitiy to adapt is not to be misrepresented. God does not require people to become like us but us to become like them to present His word to them. For me this message will help me to be mindful of those with differences in other cultures, those that are in a weak state, and those with different behavior rooted from values and worldviews. I am not to change those people to be converted to my customs. I am to share with them the gospel, that will transform their own customs for the glory of God and Lord of all
