IBS 28 - Father will honor

IBS 28 (Servant)
John 12:26
"If anyone serves Me, let Him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."
I will go where You want me to go, I will do what You want me to do. I am a bondservant to my Lord Jesus Christ. Having the desire to serve You, I dropped everything and followed. Fear is of this life, in which I hate. Faith is of enternal life, in which I love. Fear told me not, Faith told me I ought. Where He is I came, to a community that serves under His name. Where He goes, they also go; Where they go, He is with them. All who serves the Lord Jesus will be honored by God, the Father. For my application today I will have taken the honorable servant postion of being the rear guard in the areas that our community dwells in, not just for our departure but during our stay. Allowing my leader to be free to lead, with the restful thought of his faithful servant.

IBS 11 - Faith brings patience

Revelation 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. John, writing Revelation talks about his time in exile on the island of patmos. For eighteen months John's perseverance and patience did not waiver. John, in this section of the Bible, displays a clear example of how we as Christians should act while suffering for Christ. Enduring affliction with perseverance and patience is only done in the spirit! John was strengthened by the spirit of God. Sustained by the spirit, even when in chain's on account of Christ's name sake. God gave John the perevilge to write the last book of the Bible in this time of exile. IBS 10 - Joy in being patient

Colossians 1:11 "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." In Paul's letter to the Colossians He is giving thanks and prayer to God for the faith of the Colossians. Prayer for their fulfilment in the knowledge of God's will. Going on to speak of the manner worthy of the Lord. Patience, longsuffering, endurance, with joy! For verse 1:11 this is the manner Paul writes of and it's an important one to understand. Naturally the flesh does not respond with joy during times of suffering. Christians find the ability to behave in such manner because it's a manner of the spirit. With the spiritual wisdom and understanding we find happiness in servanthood for the Lord. Here the lesson is that God strengthens his children to endure longsuffering and we should have joy for the  strength to do His will .
