IBS 27 - The Body of Christ

IBS 27
1 Corinthians 12:14-16
"for in fact the body is not one member but many.(15)if the foot should say. ''Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? (16) and if the ear should say "because I am not an eye, I am not of the body", is it therefore not of the body?
We are reborn by the spirit into one body, the Body of Christ. This Body of Christ is made up of many different and diverse parts that are each equally as important as one another. God use's us all for a different purpose. We may feel like our part in ministry isn't as important as someone else's part, but that is absolutely untrue. When we are servants of God we are apart of a unity. Meaning we all operate together, and without one of those parts we don't function correctly. God has it made this way, because it keeps us in balance. We need each other. For my application today, I will remind my team during servant time the importance of this scripture and how significant servant time is to the ministry.

IBS 11 - Faith brings patience

Revelation 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. John, writing Revelation talks about his time in exile on the island of patmos. For eighteen months John's perseverance and patience did not waiver. John, in this section of the Bible, displays a clear example of how we as Christians should act while suffering for Christ. Enduring affliction with perseverance and patience is only done in the spirit! John was strengthened by the spirit of God. Sustained by the spirit, even when in chain's on account of Christ's name sake. God gave John the perevilge to write the last book of the Bible in this time of exile. IBS 10 - Joy in being patient

Colossians 1:11 "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." In Paul's letter to the Colossians He is giving thanks and prayer to God for the faith of the Colossians. Prayer for their fulfilment in the knowledge of God's will. Going on to speak of the manner worthy of the Lord. Patience, longsuffering, endurance, with joy! For verse 1:11 this is the manner Paul writes of and it's an important one to understand. Naturally the flesh does not respond with joy during times of suffering. Christians find the ability to behave in such manner because it's a manner of the spirit. With the spiritual wisdom and understanding we find happiness in servanthood for the Lord. Here the lesson is that God strengthens his children to endure longsuffering and we should have joy for the  strength to do His will .
