IBS - tranquil hearts (ESV)
Proverbs 14:30
A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.

Solomon speaks of a heart that is undisturbed; one that is soft and of stillness. In which brings truth to the unrightousness in ourselves. Meaning that tranquility of the heart brings healing to the deadness of flesh. But envy only brings disadvantage to our life. We only become aware of what others advance and not our own. A unhealthy distraction from God, looking to the left and to the right, not focusing  upwardly. Bringing just the opposite of life upon ourselves, rottenness! Lord I pray that I can apply this proverb today by finding myself patiently waiting on You Lord undisturbed and with out envy; quite without expressing emotion of the soul. Let me find myself in Your spirit. Amen.

1 Kings 18:38 "Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again." In the book of 1 Kings, Elijah the prophet of God stands against the prophets of Baal, an Idol. In this section Israel has put an Idol before the one true God. God uses Elijah to bring the hearts of His people back unto Him. Before I get to the big lesson of this scripture, which is Idols. IBS 11 - Faith brings patience

Revelation 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. John, writing Revelation talks about his time in exile on the island of patmos. For eighteen months John's perseverance and patience did not waiver. John, in this section of the Bible, displays a clear example of how we as Christians should act while suffering for Christ. Enduring affliction with perseverance and patience is only done in the spirit! John was strengthened by the spirit of God. Sustained by the spirit, even when in chain's on account of Christ's name sake. God gave John the perevilge to write the last book of the Bible in this time of exile. IBS 10 - Joy in being patient

Colossians 1:11 "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." In Paul's letter to the Colossians He is giving thanks and prayer to God for the faith of the Colossians. Prayer for their fulfilment in the knowledge of God's will. Going on to speak of the manner worthy of the Lord. Patience, longsuffering, endurance, with joy! For verse 1:11 this is the manner Paul writes of and it's an important one to understand. Naturally the flesh does not respond with joy during times of suffering. Christians find the ability to behave in such manner because it's a manner of the spirit. With the spiritual wisdom and understanding we find happiness in servanthood for the Lord. Here the lesson is that God strengthens his children to endure longsuffering and we should have joy for the  strength to do His will .
