IBS 9 - Patience to gain

Luke 21:19
"By your patience posses your souls" another translation is "By your endurance you will gain your lives"
In the Gospel according to Luke, Jesus is speaking of the future events that are to come. Destruction, war, and persecution. That persecution will come first to those who are followers of Him. Which will be the time to bear witness. Hated by all for His name's sake. That through patience and endurance you receive your life. Trials will always be; depending on our patience with God, they'll either stumble us or be a stepping stone in our live. We are called to sacrifice and suffer for our Lords name. We gain our life in obey this command. Patience is very important to this calling, without it we loss the battle. Let us ask not for less trails but the patience to endure difficults one. Witness' that smile in the face of trouble! For we are moving toward the goal! In applying this today

IBS 11 - Faith brings patience

Revelation 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. John, writing Revelation talks about his time in exile on the island of patmos. For eighteen months John's perseverance and patience did not waiver. John, in this section of the Bible, displays a clear example of how we as Christians should act while suffering for Christ. Enduring affliction with perseverance and patience is only done in the spirit! John was strengthened by the spirit of God. Sustained by the spirit, even when in chain's on account of Christ's name sake. God gave John the perevilge to write the last book of the Bible in this time of exile. IBS 10 - Joy in being patient

Colossians 1:11 "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." In Paul's letter to the Colossians He is giving thanks and prayer to God for the faith of the Colossians. Prayer for their fulfilment in the knowledge of God's will. Going on to speak of the manner worthy of the Lord. Patience, longsuffering, endurance, with joy! For verse 1:11 this is the manner Paul writes of and it's an important one to understand. Naturally the flesh does not respond with joy during times of suffering. Christians find the ability to behave in such manner because it's a manner of the spirit. With the spiritual wisdom and understanding we find happiness in servanthood for the Lord. Here the lesson is that God strengthens his children to endure longsuffering and we should have joy for the  strength to do His will .
